We continue to be amazed by the support you all are sending our way! So far we have raised $24,400 out of our $80,000 goal! We are still looking for 5 more employer matching gifts, and 10 more recurring donors. This week we explore two of the more clinical components of maternal healthcare in Haiti. We will be taking a look at cesarean sections and the ramifications of a surgical birth in an under-resourced community. This is something not often talked about, and while it has its own challenges, we are so grateful for this surgery when needed.

We also examine MFH’s family planning program, and the reasons this is a vital component of our care. All children should be wanted, and choosing when to start a family should be a personal choice, not a byproduct of external factors. MFH provided almost 1000 women with family planning services in 2022, and it is one of our fastest growing programs.

We cannot do this work without you, and quite frankly, we don’t want to. We live, work, cry, laugh, grieve and rejoice in community. We are all dependent on each other, and we love it this way!
