Dear ones,
Wow, what a ride it has been! We had absolutely no idea how our end of year campaign would go this time around, as 2020 has just been so unpredictable! The whole world has had to face unprecedented challenges, and Midwives for Haiti is no different. What is unique about us, though, is you, our family. We are so grateful for the trust you put in us and for your spirit of generosity and love.
Midwives for Haiti has some exciting plans for 2021, and we are delighted you are a part of it. Our beloved Class 11 will graduate in the autumn, six months late due to Covid interruptions. We can’t wait to send them out into the world to help their families and communities! Class 12 will start almost immediately after graduation, the first class in which all our students will be licensed nurses. (Nursing licensure in Haiti is not required in order to practice, and it is a very challenging designation to earn.) This will be the most highly prepared class so far, and we are so excited to meet them!
We are also planning some sensational workshops for our staff, including presentations on gender based violence, and perinatal mood disorders/mental health
We hope with all of our hearts that we can welcome volunteers back to Haiti as well. We miss you all!
If you haven’t got your donation in, you still have time! All money received before December 31 is eligible for a US tax receipt. We will send out a final count in January, giving you the grand total. Our goal this year was $85,000, and I know we can meet it in these final few days of the campaign. Please add your voice to ours, and together, our family will continue to save lives and empower communities in rural Haiti
Love always,
|
