This September, Help Us “Color Our World”

Dear Ones,

It’s hard to believe that summer is over and we are now firmly in pumpkin spice season! The kids are going back to school and hopefully the temperatures are easing wherever you are in the world.

I am so excited to see the progress of the Carrie Wortham Birth Center! You all know this has been a labor of love for us this year, and we are so close to completion. The major construction is almost complete, and we are putting the finishing touches on our beautiful new building. I can’t wait to meet the very first baby who will be born in this very special place!

To raise money for painting the building, we are running our traditional fall quilt raffle. This is a beautiful quilt, 69 inches by 60 inches, perfect for snuggling under with a good book and a mug of hot cocoa. It is hand finished, and full of Haiti colors, pinks, greens, and blues. Every time you pull its warmth around your shoulders, you can picture the gorgeous mamas and babies who will begin their lives together at our amazing center.

To enter, please go to http://go.rallyup.com/4b7baa or click the image below and purchase your chances to win!

You can also make a straight donation, of course, either on the raffle page, or on our regular donation page, found here: www.midwivesforhaiti.org/donate

It has been rough in Haiti lately. Inflation is now sitting at over 30%, and gas prices are an unimaginable $25 a gallon. Our budget has definitely taken a hit, but it is nothing compared to the daily life of our Haitian friends. While we cannot solve all the systemic problems affecting Haiti today, we can push through, finish the center, and begin helping the very best way we know how: by providing compassionate, evidence based care by Haitians for Haitians.

Won’t you join us?

Love always,

Jane Drichta
